Sam discovered the benefits of sports massage whilst training for the race dubbed the 'toughest footrace on earth' - the infamous Marathon des Sables, which she successfully completed in 2009. The effect of regular massage in improving both recovery and performance was remarkable, and Sam decided to move away from a career in the charity sector to become a practitioner herself. Sam has been a huge advocate of Sports Massage ever since and has regular treatments herself to compliment her own training.
Sam qualified from Essentials for Health in London with a BTEC Level 5 diploma in sports injuries and sports massage. A member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (ISRM), Sam is also qualified in Swedish and pregnancy massage, and fully insured with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
Since qualifying, Sam has worked with a number of elite athletes and professional sportsmen and women from a wide variety of sports. Additionally, Sam works closely with the One Triathlon regional development squad, many of whom are GB age group athletes.
However, it isn't just sports men and women that can benefit from this deep tissue style of massage, and many of Sams clients are simply suffering from the pains and strains of everyday life. Sports massage can also be used effectively in the treatment of many chronic musculo-skeletal conditions including frozen shoulder, whiplash, plantar fasciitis, lower back pain and ITB syndrome - to name but a few!
Sam provides a mobile service to clients within South West London including Earlsfield, Clapham, Balham, Tooting, Streatham, Wimbledon, Wandsworth, Putney, Fulham and Battersea. Sam also works from the One Element studio in Earlsfield on a Monday, Thursday and Friday.
